Miles Vintage Tinta Negra 1997 is a single harvest Madeira. This wine was aged in 650 lts seasoned American oak casks in the traditonal ‘Canteiro’ system, whereby the casks were gradually transferred from the top floors of the lodge, where it is naturally warmer, to the middle floors and eventually to the ground floor where it is cooler. The wine was regularly racked and when it reached the desired stage of maturity it was bottled.

Dark Mahogany colour with golden highlights. Great depth on the nose with notes of bitter Orange chocolates, nuts, raisins and smoky wood. Once on the mouth it’s an explosive wine, covering the mouth with a sweetness quickly followed by a pronounced acidity attack that gives a great freshness and lengths of dried fruits, exotics woods and spices.
